I recently switched over to a dual monitor setup and am still getting to know the features. Note that if you use your mouse to scroll than this won't be a problem, most games lock the mouse to their "windowed fullscreen".

Thread: Using two monitors but not wanting my game to minimize when tabbing Using two monitors but not wanting my game to minimize when tabbing Hey, I have only just started using two monitors so I am not sure if what I am asking is possible.

What I want to do is set it up so one monitor is always my gaming monitor and the second monitor is for browsing the net but at the moment I cant access the second monitor without my game automatically minimizing. Is there anyway to get around this? I am currently using actual multiple monitors and there doesn't seem to be anything in the options. Reply With Quote. If it is in Fullscreen, once you move out onto the second monitor the game becomes classed as out of focus and will automatically minimize, the only way to overcome this is to use Window Fullscreen mode if there is an option in the game you are playing.

The game will still be on the monitor so you will be able to see whats happening whilst you browse, then you just click back onto the games screen to re-enable it.

Launch it in borderless windowed. Ahh, thank you so much. Cheers for the speedy responses. Originally Posted by vbnm All times are GMT. The time now is PM. Social Media. Services My Account. Resources Terms of Service.

And what happens if you try making the 2nd monitor the primary display?

Same description: the mouse will "go" to the other screen, but it still is black. Every once and a while moving the mouse I can see a quick flash of a cursor, and changing the screen resolution seems to almost bring up a bios-like screen for a millisecond or 2, but that's it.

Also, I've tried uninstalling and re-installing the drivers for both the screen and the dock, and there is nothing in the event log. I've obviously also tried restarting the computer and disconnecting and reconnecting the dock several times. Everything else on the dock works fine. Ok guys, need your help with this as I am going insane trying to figure it out also. I setup my dual monitor today and everything worked fine. After about a half hour the second screen went blank.

There is no issues with connections etc. I have tried hooking second monitor up to laptop to ensure it wasnt the monitor itself but it will work fine.

I have my main gaming monitor, which uses freesync, and a secondary monitor. I have to play my games in fullscreen or else Freesync won't function.

However, I'd like if there was a hotkey or something similar that'd allow me to switch to the second monitor without hassle. I used to play in Borderless Windowed Mode, but Freesync doesn't work in that.

Any suggestions? Reply With Quote. Did you read my post at all? Freesync won't work with Borderless Window. I don't want to be able to drag my mouse from one to the other, I just want to be able to switch between the two screens with a hotkey or something like that. Have a hotkey which locks me into one screen or the other. Something along those lines. What you want is impossible. The next best thing would be to use a 2nd computer preferrably a cheap one to drive any additional screens and then use a kvm switch to share one keyboard and mouse between the 2 systems.

Do note that not all kvms have a hotkey function. Some have a physical switch local or remote and others use hotkeys. You might also be able to use the program Synergy to take the place of the hardware kvm switch but it might run into a similar problem to what you are facing now while using fullscreen games. I use DisplayFusion. You can bind a load of things to keyboard shortcuts and have them pinned at the top of windows as buttons as well. And yes, that's one of them. Originally Posted by Lathais.
